Teaching Language

Xihuan xuéxí xin de yuyán? Zenme yàngle zhíyè shengyá zhong de jiàoxué yuyán?

Mandarin Chinese is the most spoken language in the world, with over one billion people using it daily. Nearly 9 percent of the world’s population is able to speak more than one language. It is particularly handy for those who conduct international business and trade.

While some people easily learn foreign languages, for others, it can be more challenging. Foreign language teachers assist those who desire to learn a second language–or two or three.

Foreign language teachers not only teach others how to speak another language, they also are responsible for sharing information about the various cultures where the language is spoken.

As a general rule, a bachelor’s degree is required in order to work in the industry. Those trained in foreign languages can work as teachers, translators and interpreters.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that demand for trained foreign language teachers will increase by 17 percent over the next decade.
